Tanking

I thought the agents would help with this and if a team tanks, then that player could force his way out. But it doesn't seem like that works as some GM's won't care, especially if that player is on the final year of his deal.

So I'm now handing out fines for those who tank, here is the leagues definition of tanking

"If a player should be a starter and is averaging half of their minutes the previous year or less (must have averaged 22.5 minutes or more the previous season)and the team is sitting outside of the playoffs, they can be fined for tanking."

If I suspect tanking, I will warn you, if you choose to ignore me, I will hand out a 10 million-15 million dollar fine (depending on who the player(s) is/are).

he isn't, and even if he was, 20 minutes a game doesn't play a huge effect on a team W/L column and it's such a small minority that I don't feel I need to adjust for it

Exactly. And He's getting ample time so it is fine.

It would be like the Kings benching Thornton because he doesn't fit into future plans... Not going to happen and he has stated he loves Thornton but if he did it, it would be to obviously get a higher draft pick.

we don't even have a knicks gm, wouldn't it be better for the league if new gms weren't coming in with fines from a gmless time

new GM's have to take on everything that team has, so if that team has debt then the GM has to figure out how to get out of it.

I understand some of it, but fines for not reaching things or playing players when they need a gm to actually do those things is kinda just throwing a team towards expansion

I'm only enforcing fines the way I said I would, and it's not fair to agents if GM's are stuffing capable players on the IR.

PA I agree with Stache here....that seems stupid to me. That position will be far less appealing then
