As you probably know by now, FA will be completely different here then what you have done in your previous sim leagues. This will not be done by simming one day of FA, you must first look for the player(s) you want to contact and find the agency that has them (which you will find Here use CTRL + F to find them). When you find the agent use this format to prove to the agent that this player deserves to be on your team
Player:
Team:
Salary:
Increase:
Incentives (Player Option,NTC etc):
What role will they play:
Once you and the agent agree on a deal, the GM should be the one to post the thread up and follow the same format, with or without the role that player will play. The agent must agree much like a trade between two GM's. Once both sides agree I will approve, and the cycle continues.
I try to give both sides leverage, obviously agents want the most money they can get so they probably won't accept lowball offers (which is great, because I don't have to see them ). However, agents must also realize that if they ask for too much that player will either go overseas or into regular season FA where agents make about $30,000-$100,000 dollars (huge drop off from what players could be paid). GM's are going to have to be smart though and know when agents ask for too much, if GM's are smart and don't fall too much in love with any 1 player, then this should be a fair league.
Restricted Free Agency(Note, there is no restricted free agency in the first season of this league)
This type of free agency only applies to players who have played 4 years or less in this league and previously played for a team that did not get cut midseason in any season that have played in (dropping a Team Option is different from being cut). In this case, an agent and GM can agree to an "offer sheet" they post the offer sheet here with the format above, once both sides approve the GM that originally had the player has 24 hours to match (even if the 24 hours go past day 5 of FA). If matched, the GM that had the player keeps him, if they don't match or decline to match, that player goes to the team that gave him the offer sheet.
