Melo, you can do that in the game, I think you pay 120% of a players previous salary for example, if you sign someone to the MLE, the next year the most that player could make it is 5.4 million

That's not the part of the rule I'm interested in.
"Using this exception, a team can re-sign its own free agent for either 175% of his salary the previous season, or the NBA's average salary, whichever is greater."
The NBA's average salary is usually about 5 million so a player with two bird years could be offered a salary starting at $5,000,000.
